Sonia will visit you online or in-person, depending on location. She will explain how lived experience, research, and folklore become page-turners. The talk will feature titles from her published work, with time for Q & A.

Writing Workshop
A hands-on writing workshop where grades 4-6 learn about story elements, structure, and the power of repetition. Then, they will apply this to their own stories.
Students will craft using sensory detail, pacing, and the ‘rule of three’ structure; plan with a simple story map; draft the opening hook of a story and receive constructive feedback.
Enthusiastic wordsmiths and reluctant writers will all join in the fun.
